Object Description

A George III brass-bound mahogany WINE-COOLER on STAND circa 1775

Of oval form with a moulded lip and fluted body between brass bands with lion mask ring handles on a detachable plain frieze base with lion paw feet. The brass liner is replaced.

This wine cooler originally formed part of a suite of dining furniture comprising a large serving table flanked by urns on pedestals designed by Robert Adam for Osterley Park.
