The stand comprises of a central raised inkwell with square top and hinged dome cover with a raised ornamental finial. The inner inkwell is recessed and has its original removable glass liner. The cover has a hammered finish rare and with a flat edge with a simple circle design molded edging. The raised inkwell has long swept rounded edges to either side and with a swept shorter edge to the front forming part of a pen holder tray to the lower section. The stand has rounded edging to back and with a raised rectangular shaped front edge again repeating the molded circular pattering to the front raised edges.
