Object Description

Chinese porcelain famille rose early 18th century plate. Made at the end of the reign of the Emperor Yongzheng or early Part of the reign of the Emperor Qianlong at the kilns in Jingdezhen.
Excellent bright enamelling and subject matter. Painting shows peonies, Chrysanthemums and rockwork with two fabulous golden pheasants confronting each other. Golden pheasants are one of the sign of the Emperor. Although obviously on export porcelain they are used as a decorative device.
The cavetto is painted with cartouches of auspicious items alternating with flowers.

The enamelling of the over glaze painting is bright and shows great detail and is in perfect condition.
This plate was originally made as export ware to Europe and is an excellent example of early famille rose ware.
