Object Description

Chinese 18th century blue and white porcelain helmet jug. made for export to the west as a milk or cream jug.
Painted with a Chinese scene of He Xian Gu , the female deity, who was the patron of the home and also self sacrifice. she is often depicted as holding her symbol the lotus or a fly whisk. here she is also attended by her young attendant. the long flowing willow is also a tree associated with the deity. Excellent s.
Well modelled with good decoration and moulding to the base of the body.

To the top of the handle it is 13.5cm tall and 12.75 cm to the top of the pouring lip 16.5cm from the back of the handle to the lip

Object Condition

The piece is perfect but under the glaze there are a few glaze chips which were made when it was produced and they were glazed over
