Yuan Qing Bi Square Water Pot

Object Description

Yuan Qing Bi water pot made at Jingdezhen at the start of the Yuan Dynasty.
Excellent thick glaze with a good bluey / green tinge.
The neck is enhanced with two Qi – hornless or young dragons – on opposite sides appearing to chase across the shoulder.
Square shapes are very difficult to pot and to apply a sloping a neck even more so. The pot shows tremendous skill
An excellent rare piece. A high status piece
