Home Thoughts of Abroad

Sarah Colegrave’s current online exhibition is designed to take you on a much needed summer holiday.

Henry Scott Tuke and Claude Muncaster sail you to Reginald Brill’s Ireland and north to the Arctic to visit the polar bears. Flying from Iceland you enjoy an amusing tour of Amsterdam with John Sergeant and then on to Germany in the company of George Howard, Earl of Carlisle. Charles March Gere leads you through the Austrian and Swiss Alps until you reach France and the Cote d’Azur. After a visit to St Tropez with Stephen Spurrier and time on Brewer’s beach you enjoy the elegance of Monte Carlo, resting on a sun drenched terrace. Next to Italy, visiting Venice, Florence, and Naples before departing from the Baroque streets of Lecce in the southern most heel. You then travel to the exotic blossom filled mountain meadows of Pakistan and Kashmir and India’s stunning Taj Mahal with Edward Clifford before taking a leap to meet the people of South Africa with Roland Pitchford. Your southern most visit is to the rocky shores of Muriwai in New Zealand. Eventually you board a packet steamer to Demerara sailing towards Jospeh Arthur Palliser Severn’s beautiful blue horizon.

All pictures may be viewed by appointment in London or Oxfordshire. In this strange time I am aware that viewing may be difficult for many and appreciate it may be worrying to buy unseen. I therefore have a 14 day return policy for pictures purchased from the website.
