Object Description
A late 19th century, 17th century style, cabinet on stand by Gillows.
The cabinet has a mahogany carcase veneered with rosewood and doors that are coromandel wood cross banded with burr oak centres.
The cabinet is decorated with quality engraved brass mounts and hinges and a fantastic centre key escutcheon door plate that has a key.
The doors open to an interior that has a single adjustable mahogany shelf.
The cabinet has a single mahogany lined drawer that has gilt brass back plates and handles and is stamped ‘Gillows’ on the top edge.
The stand has ebonised turned legs and cross rails, the cabinet and stand are one piece and do not come apart.
A beautifully made quality piece of furniture in excellent condition.
