Object Description
A rare and original 17th century William and Mary olive oyster table, Circa 1680-1700. England
The ovolo-moulded top is banded in holly and entirely veneered in individually cut oysters of olive laid with thought and precision to create symmetrical geometric patterns lined in boxwood, above a frieze incorporating an oak-lined drawer similarly vennered and banded, over a figured olive veneered Y-frame stretcher supported by the original Solomonic or barley twist legs and bun feet.
It should be noted that the table is in truly lovely original condition with well patinated waxed surfaces.
