Object Description
A small Chippendale mahogany architect’s desk.The top with shallow gallery above a sloping lid with possibly the original green baize.The base has a waist mould with crisp gadroon carving above two shallow drawers and stands on four square legs,chamfered on the inside,and has leather barrel castors.The pierced corner brackets are finely carved,the back is polished making the desk free standing and easily moved,the lid lifts to reveal a plain interior.The height of the kneehole is 29ins ,the desk was made to stand at but one could use a tall stool to sit at it.
