A Very Good Quality 18th Century Georgian Mahogany Dumbwaiter
Retaining Excellent Untouched Colour And Patina With Three Graduated
Revolving Circular Dished Tiers United By Turned Central Column With
Crisply Carved Decoration Raised On Elegant Tripod Base
( Originally made to stand to one side and serve from which is where
the revolving tiers would come in particularly useful these items now
make wonderful objects for displaying any manner of smaller items on.
Alternatively of course it is very much fit for original purpose and would
look wonderful with a selection of cakes, pastries, teapots, cups and
condiments perched upon it.
This particular example is constructed from excellent rich mahogany
and has a lovely untouched surface. It has never been refinished,
simply waxed and polished and loved throughout it’s many years. The
carving on the column is particularly well executed and the choice of high
end mahogany indicates that this item clearly came from a very prominent
cabinet making workshop originally and would have been supplied almost
certainly to a very important client of theirs. )
