Object Description
A very elegant and well drawn 18th century George III giltwood settee / sofa / canapé in the French Hepplewhite taste upholstered in a grey silk.
English Circa 1775
Of elegant French form, the moulded frame having a padded serpentine back with central flower and husk-carved crest, the down-scrolled arms with pads over a stuffed seat and serpentine rail carved with flowers, raised on four cabriole front legs with shell-carved headers.
In excellent condition having been newly upholstered in a contrasting grey silk, the re-gilt frame has obtained a nice patina / wear and colouration.
