Object Description
A Delightful 18th Century Mahogany Oval Open Wine
Cooler Having Original Brass Bound Decoration And
Original Brass Carrying Handles Housed On Original
Square Leg Stand With Pierced Corner Brackets
(This beautiful oval wine cooler is raised on it’s original
stand which is relatively unusual with many from this period
having lost their stands. It is also a particularly nice quality stand
made from rich, dense and well patinated mahogany. The pierced
corner brackets are also a lovely addition. The cooler itself has
lost its original lead lining tray and this has been relatively recently
replaced with a smaller removable tray which still allows it to be
used for storing bottles or standing small plant pots in. It is
however quite unlikely that the current tray is watertight.)
