A very good early 18th century Oak Mule Chest, the plank top retaining the original butterfly hinges and opening to reveal a candle box and hidden secret drawers all above a frieze with the carved initials M D and the original lock with a key, the front and two drawers all with geometric panels and split bobbin turnings, the sides with fielded panels and the whole raised on bun feet. This piece has a wonderful, deep colour and patina.
