Object Description

This idyllic 1920s Art Deco stained glass window depicts a great white heron (also known as a great egret) standing gracefully on the river bed.

Tall green reeds grow on the riverbank, while sloping panes of stained glass beyond the blue water of the river are evocative of hillsides and mountains in the distance. The stained glass is cleverly used to create a tranquil scene, reminiscent of lakes and wetlands across England and the UK.

Thanks to its depth of colour and elegantly captured subject, this heron stained glass window will look stunning in any setting old or new as a decorative feature window, acting as a work of art in itself.
