Boin-Taburet was established in Paris in 1873 by antique dealer Georges Boin and his son-in-law, jeweller Émile Taburet. The firm quickly rose to prominence as one of the leading names in French decorative arts of the late 19th century, admired for its revival of Louis XIV, Louis XV, and Louis XVI styles.
Their silver and metalwork gained international acclaim, with notable displays at the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1878 and 1889, where they were awarded a gold medal for their creations inspired by 18th-century masters such as François-Thomas Germain and Juste-Aurèle Meissonier. Beyond silver, Boin-Taburet also retailed finely made small furniture and luxury decorative objects, catering to discerning Parisian collectors and international clients.
By 1900, Georges Boin partnered with the goldsmith Henry, continuing under the name Boin and Henry Goldsmiths. Later iterations of the firm included Henry Brothers & Co. in 1906 and Henry and Son in 1936, marking the legacy of a house that had helped shape the decorative arts revival in France.
Today, Boin-Taburet pieces remain highly sought after by collectors, appreciated for their design, historic significance, and direct link to the extravagant tastes of Belle Époque Paris.
