19th century Brass Standard Lamp
A late 19th century Victorian polished brass standard lamp, converted from an oil lamp to electric, rewired and new lamp holder.
The lamp has a square stepped base with paw feet and the block base of the Corinthian pillar has lion masks with rings in their mouths to each side.
The Corinthian pillar top has a bold capital with acanthus and volute decoration.
The brass tube lamp holder can be raised and lowered and is locked in place by a screw turn ring.
The lamp is in excellent condition and has recently been professionally polished and electrically refitted and tested. (Circa 1870)
