Object Description

An Extremely Unusual Mid 19th Century, William IV Period, Laburnum Wood Occasional Lamp Table, Having Superbly Figured Circular Drum Type Top, Over Three Concealed Drawers To Frieze, Raised On Incredible Cluster Of Ropetwist Carved Columns, Terminating On Triform Base And Original Turned Feet.

This beautiful and interesting little table is one of those occasional mysteries which crop up in this business occasionally, as despite a combined 80 years experience between us we have never quite seen the like of this table. It is such an unusual design, a strange but attractive combination of styles and is even quite unusually constructed using laburnum veneers. Taking into account the slightly quirky design and the laburnum timbers we have settled on it probably originating from north of the border in Scotland and dated it to the mid 19th century.

In terms of its overall quality, practicality and functionality then this is second to none, with the table serving as a perfect little end, or occasional table, which could be used to store a lamp or a whole host of other items on.

As with all items which we offer for sale this little occasional table has been inspected by our highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers at our workshops and received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale to ensure that it is in the best possible condition before being offered for sale.
