Object Description

This huqqa (or hookah) is a wonderful item, which is crafted from porcelain and finely hand-painted and parcel gilt. The huqqa was created in the late 19th Century, most likely in Russia.

The huqqa features a cup-shaped bowl which is set on a knopped and slightly flared stem. This stem is placed on cylindrical, ribbed neck on a bell-shaped base.

This huqqa is crafted from white porcelain and is covered with intricate, multicoloured paintings of flowers, plants and birds. These images are parcel gilt, creating beautiful gold highlights among the colour.
