19th century rosewood music stool by Charles Nosotti.

Object Description

A fine quality 19th century rosewood and parcel gilt music stool or window seat. The upholstered top lifting to reveal a mahogany lined interior, above a frieze with carved swags and paterae front and back. Standing on turned fluted legs united by a flat wavy stretcher with centre gilded paterae. English Circa 1850.

Object History

The stool bears, on the underside , the label C Nosotti, 398-399 Oxford St, who were well known furniture makers with a Royal Warrant(see notes).

Object Condition

In fine condition throughout with original gilding, would also be useful at the foot of a bed, the upholstery could probably be improved on.
