A 16th Century Gothic Limestone Font.

Object Description

A 16th century gothic carved limestone font on an associated base. The font is decorated with carved shields all the way round, with gothic tracery beneath. The font is in wethered condition with age related marks and has an old lead pipe throught the middle.

Object History

From a Private collection, Oldham , Greater Manchester.

Object Condition

Age related ware and weathering to the surface of the stone. There is also a lead pipe through the centre of top section, which could be removed.
