Object Description
From our collection of late 19th Century, Meiji-era Japanese metalwork, this wonderful Bronze Okimono group depicting a pair of Oni.
The two devils, grinning with excitement as they hold aloft a spherical rock crystal. Each Oni wearing animal print loin cloths. One a Tiger, the other a Leopard, (with the creatures face at the bottom of his shorts).
Both figures wear gilt bracelets on their feet and hands.
A wonderful example of Meiji-era craftsmanship and imagination.
