Object Description

From our collection of Japanese, late 19th Century (Meiji-era) fine art and antiques, this charming Bronze pear-shaped vase depicting a bundle of rice grass. The artist has used the Mitsuro Hikime (lost wax) technique to produce crisp lines to replicate the organic nature of the blades of grass. A family of small birds are feasting on the harvest.
