Object Description
A rare Chinese export oil on canvas of Hong merchants and river boats along the Pearl river in Canton. Various nation flags can be discerned, the American, the French, the British and the Danish. There are 24 states shown on the American flag thus the picture can be dated to between 1820 and 1836.
