Object Description

The provincial painted station type eight day wall clock with a cream painted dial and black Roman numerals, now beautifully timeworn with age, retaining the original hands, the outer beech case having been black painted the whole surviving from late nineteenth century England.

Object History

Unknown.

Object Literature

This type of clock is typical of the timepieces that would have been in use across railways in the late 1800’s.

Brings a whole new meaning to ‘time-worn’… epic.

Object Condition

The clock is hugely decorative and attractive as is to look at but to function as intended it requires some restoration, which we can administer if so desired at cost with our local clock restorer. We have not opened the inner cavity.
