Object Description

The early twentieth century period pine carcass of relatively large size, showing the original period teal blue painted finish and having an arrangement of five drawers, two short over three long, with knob handles to each, the whole sitting on turned bun feet, surviving from the zeniths of nineteenth century England.

Object History

Unknown.

Object Literature

A rather unusual period colour and one that proves refreshingly attractive.

Object Condition

The drawers glide smoothly, and the whole proves sturdy and in good original order. The paintwork is nicely worn giving the piece a very decorative feel with the top almost fully depleted of paint. The feet are all original as are the Bakelite escutcheons, though two of those are lacking, and one of the knob handles is a later replacement.
