Object Description
From our collection of Japanese, Meiji-era (1868-1912) metalwork, this charming Bronze Okimono from the Miyao Company (signed to the reverse) and depicting a child, dressed in elegant robes and offering a bowl of food to his pet song-bird.
The boys’ robes decorated with stylised Chrysanthemum, auspicious clouds and Mon and with a Katana at his waist. The signature of the Miyao Company within a double-gourd shaped tablet on the back.
The figure itself measures 25cm in height and stands on an original carved-wood base with gilt decoration.
