Object Description
Embellished with typical parterre shaped moulding, well realised dolphin decoration and rarely seen a full name – more commonly it is initials only. The name Mary Cole could see this Cistern as a wedding gift or possibly a celebration of a birth.
It is also unusual to see the Cistern raised on ‘dog head’ supports – these could be contemporary to the Cistern or a slightly later addition.
