Object Description
A fine Derbyshire black marble end support specimen table, the rectangular top with a chequerboard pietra dura panel of giallo antico, portoro, brocatelle d’Espagne, bluejohn, malachite and other marbles, all set into Ashford black marble carved with low relief floral and foliate borders, raised on a mahogany table with a shaped frieze and scrolling X end supports boldly carved with scrolls and circular bosses, and joined with a turned stretcher, original castors disguised in the feet.
