Object Description
A fine early 18th century tripod pedestal table with a bird cage top, circa 1700 – 1730.
The table is constructed from oak – the base having out swept – flat sided scrolled legs. The leg are dovetailed into the finely turned stem, terminating into a turned pendant below the legs. The top has a revolving bird cage which is removable via a sliding wedge. The top also tilts and retains its original locking mechanism.
The table top has some old marks commensurate with age, but has a fabulous colour and patination and is in excellent condition.
