Object Description

From our collection of fine Japanese metalware of the reign of Emperor Meiji, (1868-1912) is this attractive Silver Koro of spherical form standing on three cabriole feet.

The central band is decorated with a finely detailed multi-metal wraparound design of Cranes flying through auspicious clouds.

The cloud motif is repeated in the pierced design of the lid which itself is topped with a large, playful Shishi dog with its front left paw slightly raised as it traps a Gold ball.

Each of the feet of the Koro are decorated with Minogame.
