A Fine Louis XVI Style Bureau Plat
Constructed from mahogany, set with a leather top and decorated throughout with gilt bronze mounts, the writing table supported on tapering stop-fluted legs with ormolu toupie feet and arrow fletching capitals, with a long wide central drawer above the kneehole flanked by two pairs of drawers, all set with finely chased escutcheons and draped handles suspended from winged putti, the top with an ormolu beaded border and pull-out slides to either side. Some of the drawers stamped by the retailer ‘Wright & Mansfield.’
