Object Description

A fine pair of mid 18th century Louis XV period beechwood fauteuils armchairs of unusually large scale.

For the period, these armchairs are significantly broader than most at 70 cm wide. JEAN-JACQUES POTHIER, was one of the few makers of the period to specialise in producing chairs of this scale.

Each chair stamped I Pothier on the front rail.
