A Fine Pair of Louis XV Style Gilt-Bronze Mounted Marble Ewers, by Paul Sormani.
Each ewer stamped to the underside ‘P.S.’ for Paul Sormani.
Each ewer or ‘aiguière’ has a Connemara ‘verte d’ireland’ marble body of elongated, gadrooned baluster form, finely mounted with a gilt-bronze shell-form spout, scrolling acanthus and bullrush handles and a rocaille acanthus cast base. Each ewer retains its original removable liner.
French, Circa 1870.
