Object Description
The sophisticated George III period estate cabinet or cupboard of pleasing proportions in superb quality mahogany and oak with ivory escutcheons the whole having twin panelled doors with brass edging opening to reveal a comprehensive fitted interior, with further doors having opposing matched veneers concealing pigeon holes above further pigeon holes, adjustable filing slides, a brushing slide with two banks of six graduated short drawers each with ring handles, one being compartmentalised and hand annotated for the months of the year, and each with marbled paper interiors, the whole standing on bracket feet and presented with its original keys and working locks surviving in untouched condition from the last quarter of eighteenth century England.
