Object Description

The ebonised Georgian period side or salon chair having a Hepplewhite taste padded oval back and shaped seat, upholstered in House of Hackney’s ‘Dinosauria’ with double piping, the carcass with later(?) unifying stretchers, with tapering front legs to block rear legs.

A striking and comfortable occasional chair, perfect for a bedroom, hall or landing space.

Object Condition

The chair is in good sturdy and original condition benefiting from its webbing and upholstery having recently been refreshed. The stretchers are possibly a later Victorian addition. She proves sturdy and ready for everyday use though there are ancient repairs to the legs.
