Object Description

The well-proportioned ebonised framed library armchair with a beautifully supple cigar brown leather button upholstered back and flared tapering arms to a semi-elliptical seat to turned and fluted front legs with brass rings and castors, the surviving from the William IV to early Victorian period.

Wonderfully comfortable this is a bona fide country house piece with masses of gentlemanly appeal and an undeniable level of quality.

Object Condition

The chair is lovely original untouched order making it hugely appealing. The leather is worn but appealingly so, now wonderfully supple. The frame is in good order throughout with only minor scuffs and an outstanding patina and colour whilst the castors are also original to the piece. It proves a very comfortable chair indeed, perfect for lounging, reading or watching.
