Object Description
A very handsome and well carved late Victorian leather upholstered mahogany wing back armchair in the manner of Giles Grendey.
This extremely well drawn chair of imposing size has superb proportions.
The square back with shaped wings which serpentine down to outswept scrolling barrel armrests with a good sized feather cushion making this armchair very comfortable indeed.
It is fully upholstered in a hand soft leather hyde with brass nail finish surround. Raised on the most ornately carved foliate base with satyr masks to the centre and knees of each cabriole leg which terminate on hairy paw feet.
