Object Description
A large Edwardian shaped rectangular silver and tortoiseshell piqué box, the hinged lid with a dainty basket suspended from a bow with long ribbons entwined with flowering tendrils, all within a laurel and flowerhead border, raised on four tied-bow feet. English, assay marks L&S,Birmingham, 1906.
Piqué work is identified by the presence of metals, usually gold and silver, set into materials such as tortoiseshell or ivory. A CITES licence will be supplied for any item being exported from the UK.
