Object Description

The large cranium skull of a bovine cow (Bos taurus) having deep eye sockets and nasal cavities, and with some teeth remaining, surviving from the middle of the twentieth century.

Object History

Unknown.

Object Literature

Like humans, cows form close friendships and choose to spend much of their time with 2-4 preferred individuals. They also hold grudges for years and may dislike particular individuals.

Adds instant gothic to any interior; who knew bovines could be so dramatic?

Object Condition

The condition of the whole is good with a well-aged patination and ivory hue making the skull very tactile. There are a couple of areas of loss, please see the photographs for visual reference. There is a hole to the top of the cranium which may indicate a bullet wound leading to death.
