A late Victorian wooden library pole ladder by Taylor, the brass ‘D’ section uprights re-covered in close-nailed burgundy leather and enclosing nine rungs, all of which ingeniously fold together into a pole, stamped ‘Taylor’s Patent’, English, c 1880
