Object Description
A Louis Philippe Period Cut-Brass, Mother-of-Pearl and Bone-Inlaid Marquetry, Giltwood, Ebony and Ebonised Meuble à Hauteur d’appui.
The rectangular top with a stiff-leaf carved giltwood edge and inlaid with a rocaille cartouche framed cameo portrait of a renaissance man within scrolled arabesques. Above a fall-front drawer with pull-out leather lined writing surface enclosing a central recess flanked to each side by two drawers. The cupboard doors decorated en suite with marquetry and strapwork corner and central cartouches framing three-quarter length figures of classical maidens. The doors enclosing three tray drawers veneered in lemonwood. On an outstepped plinth with stiff-left giltwood edge and shaped apron.
