Object Description
A Very Fine Louis XV Style Gilt-Bronze Mounted Green Stained Horn Clock and Barometer Set.
French, Circa 1880.
The clock has a circular glazed enamel clock dial with both Roman and Arabic chapters, and signed CAUSARD H. DU ROY / SUIV. LA COUR’.
The barometer has a dial signed A.Goubert A.PARIS / PAR DES MOIENS PRECIS J’INDIQUE A TOUS LES YEUX / LES MOINDRES MOUVEMENTS QUI SE FONT SOUS LES CIEUX.
Each is surmounted by a two part enamelled temperature scale within a foliate border, the case with C-scrolled and foliate edges surmounted by a cartouche and pierced C-scroll finial,. The lower sections feature a hunting trophy mount above a fruiting foliate finial.
