Object Description
A Louis XVI Style Gilt-Bronze Mounted Grey Veined White Marble Fireplace.
French, Circa 1870.
This fine Louis XVI Style fireplace has a rectangular mantel shelf with a moulded edge above a frieze embellished with a gilt-bronze guilloche and flowerhead running border; the scrolling jambs are mounted with with gilt-bronze ‘monaie’ pattern borders.
The fireplace is in good original un-restored condition. The gilt-bronze mounts are of fine quality and would clean, but are currently a very nice mellow aged colour.
