Object Description
A Meiji period carved hardwood circular display cabinet, in the form of a drum with a mirror back and three asymmetric shelves with a dragon support, all behind a single glass plate, the shelves accessed by rolling up the continuous tambour sides until an opening is revealed, the whole held up by two boldly carved dragons supported on four legs and set on a rectangular plinth with a disguised drawer carved with an oni-mask, the surround in three interlocking sections ornately carved with two further dragons amongst cloud scrolls centred on a tama.
