Object Description

The beautiful time worn painted pine farmhouse serving table, the original paint distressed commensurate with age, showing various hues of soft chestnut to faded powder grey blue, having a three-plank top over two frieze drawers, standing on tapering block kegs, and surviving largely in original condition from the early to middle Victorian period.

Object History

A Yorkshire Dales Estate.

Object Literature

An attractive and versatile table with wonderful surfaces, adding Yorkshire farmhouse period charm to any interior.

Object Condition

The table shows some attractive wear and tear with scuffing and losses commensurate with its age, with the whole being structurally sound. The top has been well used with an attractive dry finish and there are iron rivets filling some holes, whilst others remain vacant, where a vice would have been used in a workshop setting. There is an iron bracket repair to the underside of the top to one flank. The knob handles appear to be original. Overall this is a table full of character and displays a wonderfully original finish that has taken on a quite superb powder grey blue in places.
