Object Description

A Napoleon III Period ‘Boulle’ Marquetry Cave à Liqueur

Constructed using the Boulle marquetry technique of engraved brass inlaid into tortoiseshell, the table-top drinks box covered on all sides with baroque inspired geometric designs, supported on brass feet, the top and sides hinged revealing the removable fitted interior of four stoppered decanters and sixteen matching glasses, all with gilt details cradled in the carved wood tray. The glass probably by Baccarat.
