Object Description

The comfortable and compact Edwardian period low slung fireside easy armchairs, one with a flared scrolled back, each being upholstered in hue blossom in a linen and viscose blend with single piping, and both with a scatter cushion in jeweled velvet, the wholes with barrel arms and well sprung on an oak carcass sitting on tapered and fluted legs with original ceramic castors and brass surrounds.

Object History

Unknown.

Object Literature

This pair would have been used as a his and hers pair either side of the fireplace in an Edwardian home; think a scaled down Downton Abbey scenario.

A lovely ready-to-go pair for bedrooms, landings or indeed the sitting room by the fireside.

Object Condition

In good overall condition, the chairs have been re-upholstered, re-sprung and had a tightening of the frames to each. They are both structurally very sound with the legs and castors all operational and sturdy, with one spliced repair to one back leg.
