After models by Antonio Canova (1757 – 1822) Often paired these figures originally carved in marble Canova are known as “Dancer with hands on hips” and “Dancer with hand on chin” with their primary models respectively in the Hermitage and the Galleria Nazionale d ’Arte Antica in Rome.
