A Pair of Louis XVI Style Wall Appliques

Constructed from fire gilded and patinated bronze, with hand-chased details, the pair of wall lights modelled as two bacchanalian terms of youths, each holding up two arms complete with bobèches and candleholders.
French, circa 1890

A similar pair of this design at Compiègne belonged to King Louis XVI of France, which can now be seen in the Musée Cognacq-Jay, Paris.
