Object Literature

Rather than concentrating on heightened realism the style here is naïve and provincial and utterly charming; the masks to the urns are very much of the early eighteenth-century style and there is a loose playful style in the painting.

Summoning the sights and smells of rural Italy, a pair with a real folksy quality and you can almost hear the crusty bread break and the wine being poured.

Object Condition

The pictures remain in sound overall condition and are un-meddled remaining uncleaned. The frames have a few very small areas of loss to their edgings. Please refer to the photographs for a full visual reference.
